Penn State York provides high quality education, research, and service for the residents of south central Pennsylvania. The campus is the local presence of the University and is also a cooperating partner with the communities it serves.

Penn State York offers traditional undergraduate, graduate, and noncredit education. In addition, the campus is a focus for career-related education, technology transfer, and economic development initiatives. It extends its offerings throughout the service region through its Lancaster Center and many on-site locations. Through these outreach activities Penn State York serves students, business, industry, and government, by making education accessible and by helping area employers and residents to remain competitive in a rapidly changing economic environment.

As part of a major research institution, Penn State York conducts research and scholarly activity consistent with the expertise of its faculty. This research is valued in its own right as an important part of the task of the teacher/scholars on our faculty, and as a contribution to human understanding and creativity.

The Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) helps to advance the economic well-being of Pennsylvania by serving as a catalyst, facilitator, and collaborator for using the resources, expertise, and intellectual assets of Penn State to help create and retain jobs in the Commonwealth and enhance the skills of its workforce.The goals of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development are to:

  • support Pennsylvania employers and workforce through matching their needs with Penn State resources and engaging other external partners.
  • identify and facilitate opportunities for partnerships between University units statewide and other economic and workforce development organizations.
  • identify and capitalize on funding opportunities where Penn State can add value.
  • disseminate economic and workforce development information.
  • develop relationships with:
    · key state and federal government agency officials
    · other economic and workforce development organizations
    · other post secondary institutions
    · organizations representing key industry clusters
    · Penn State's Office of Government Affairs
  • become aware of University activities and impact related to economic and workforce development.
  • articulate and promote the University's role and contribution to economic and workforce development in Pennsylvania.
   
   

The Manufacturers' Association of South Central Pennsylvania (MASCPA) is a regional employers' organization with more than 350 member companies located within South-Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland.

Founded with the strength of the region's industrial roots in 1906, we are an advocate for manufacturing and related industries. Offering two types of memberships to the community: General - manufacturing, and Associate - non-manufacturing, allows us to work with many types of organizations.

The mission of Pennergy Source's mission is to collaboratively provide energy system OEMs and system suppliers with the required manufactured components that result in high quality, reliable and cost-effective solutions.

The vision of Pennergy Source is to provide an easier, quicker, and cost-effective sourcing experience when clients procure manufactured components in the emerging energy services markets.

   
   
The York Keystone Innovation Zone was developed to enhance technology growth in three hubs within York County including the York City Business and Industry Park. The York County KIZ currently contains 9 qualified companies.

• Industry Sectors: Advanced Manufacturing and Diversified Materials, Food and Agricultural Science, Information Technology, and Life Sciences
• Training: Training programs in a variety of areas available for KIZ companies and partners.
• Internships: Internship stipends available for their work with KIZ companies.
• Incubation Services: Incubation services available to KIZ companies at little to no charge.
• Access to Research:  Access to research and researchers for the local institutio
