Robert Farrell, Ph.D. to Present Biotech Seminars During Summer
Robert Farrell, Ph.D., associate professor of biology, will be presenting three weeklong biotech seminars in the newly opened Edward M. Elias Science Building. The seminars will focus on polymerase chain reaction. “ PCR Methodology ” will be held May 17-21, “ Advanced PCR Techniques ” from June 14-18, and “ Quantitative RNA Techniques ” from August 2-6.
More than 75 percent of our workshop participants hold advanced degrees. Previous workshops have been attended research scientists, Ph.D.'s, M.D.'s, veterinarians, lab technicians, corporate technical services departments, college faculty, and sales and marketing personnel. A large percentage of participants are engaged actively in diverse research, a profile which itself acts as the impetus for rather dynamic interaction among the participating scientists.
Dr. Farrell was president of Exon-Intron, Inc., the Small Business Contractor of the Year for the USDA Agricultural Research Service, staff lecturer and laboratory instructor, Molecular Biology and Basic Cell and Tissue Culture for The National Institutes of Health/FAES, and the Peer Review Committee Chairman for the National Institute of Mental Health.
For information about the workshops and registration, contact him at 717-771-8415 or e-mail to jfr10@psu.edu.
